Home Helpers Fills Need for In-Home Care in Metrocrest

As more than 70 million Americans will reach age 65 in the next two decades, the need for in-home senior care continues to soar. Local entrepreneurs Scott and Debra Asher are lending a helping hand and have launched a local agency to meet the in-home care needs of residents in Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Irving and Grand Prairie.

As part of the nation’s leading franchise specializing in non-medical and personal in-home care for seniors, new mothers and other individuals needing recuperative and continuing care, Home Helpers began serving the local community in December 2010.

As a 15-year veteran in the insurance and financial services industry, Scott Asher provided business processing solutions to Fortune 100 companies. For the past 15 years, his wife Debra, has worked as a physical therapist with a focus in senior care living. Their entrepreneurial spirit combined with their personal caregiving experiences led them to open Home Helpers where they could provide a much needed service to the local community.

“As a new business owner, I am excited about the opportunity to help local seniors lead longer and happier lives in the comfort of their own homes,” said Scott Asher. “At Home Helpers, we strive to deliver the same quality of care we’d expect for our own families and offer clients a more affordable alternative to assisted living or senior care facilities.”

Home Helpers offers free in-home consultations and works with clients individually to tailor flexible care plans to meet their specific needs and budgets. Services offered include companionship, bathing, meal preparation, dressing assistance, local transportation and light housekeeping.
