On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at approximately 7:17 pm, Haltom City officers responded to The Oaks at Jane Lane Apartments (3001 Jane Ln, Haltom City, TX 76117, near Broadway Ave) for a reported shooting.
Officers entered the reported apartment and located a deceased adult male who had been shot. Detectives and Crime Scene personnel were called in and assumed control of the investigation. After initial processing of evidence, statements, and available information, HCPD detectives received a confession from the shooter involved in this offense. It appears that the victim and the shooter knew each other. He was arrested and is being charged with murder.
This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the citizens in the area. The identity of the male who was arrested will not be released until he has been arraigned by a magistrate.
The identity of the deceased victim will not be released until successful notification has been made to next of kin.
