The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office has confirmed that 33-year-old Matthew Brent Osborn, a resident of Arlington, pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault.
The incident occurred on October 13, 2022, when Osborn became upset with a woman he had been dating. Over the course of several hours, he physically assaulted and strangled her, in addition to committing rape. The victim managed to escape when Osborn fell asleep and contacted the Arlington Police for assistance.
Responding officers from the Arlington Police Department apprehended Osborn. It was revealed that the accused had also resided in Kemp, Texas, and Azle, Texas.
