Pregnant Woman Killed, Infant Critical in I-30 Collision with Off-Duty Dallas Police Officer

In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 6, at 2:32 a.m., the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Dallas Fire Rescue swiftly responded to a significant accident on Interstate 30 near 2nd Avenue, involving an off-duty Dallas Police Officer.

Upon reaching the scene, deputies discovered a stalled vehicle in the center lane of Interstate 30 and 2nd Avenue, which had been struck by an off-duty police officer in another vehicle.

All occupants of the stalled vehicle were promptly transported to a local hospital, with two individuals listed in critical condition.

Tragically, after arriving at the hospital, a pregnant female was pronounced deceased. However, the baby, though in critical condition, survived the incident.

The involved police officer underwent a medical evaluation and was subsequently released from the hospital.

The affected stretch of roadway was reopened at 5:52 a.m. CDT to normal traffic.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is currently spearheading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
