NCTCOG Invites Public Input on Key Initiatives and Events, Including 2024 MLB All-Star Game and 2026 FIFA World Cup in Arlington

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has initiated an online public input gathering process, commencing today, covering a range of topics. Among them are discussions on the 2024 Regional Transportation Funding Program and the Dallas-Fort Worth Air Quality Improvement Plan. Interested individuals can review and provide comments on these matters at www.publicinput.com/nctcogJan24 until February 6.

Arlington, a city in Tarrant County, is gearing up to host the 2024 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in July and has secured a role as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In light of these upcoming events, the Regional Transportation Council has taken measures to support transportation planning efforts, including those related to the Wings Over Cowtown Air Show scheduled for April 2024 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth.

The 2024 Regional Transportation Funding Program represents the culmination of NCTCOG's evaluations of funding requests from various agencies across the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Staff members are proposing the allocation of federal and regional funding to support projects throughout North Texas.

Additionally, attention is being given to the Dallas-Fort Worth Air Quality Improvement Plan, a collaborative regional effort by local governments to enhance air quality, protect public health, and address extreme weather events. Funding for the plan is provided through a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Pollution Reduction Grants program.

The public will also have access to information and resources regarding Map Your Experience, the Regional Smoking Vehicle Program (RSVP), vehicle incentive and funding opportunities, and Try Parking It.
