February is - Love Your Library - Month in Irving

Irving Public Library is inviting the community to celebrate Love Your Library Month by donating gently used books, joining the Friends of the Public Library or volunteering at any library location. Those interested in learning more about Love Your Library Month are invited to enjoy musical performances and refreshments at the following meet-and-greet opportunities.
 
  • A Musical Salute to Valentine’s Day, featuring Dave Tanner – 2 p.m. Feb. 13. Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail. A popular performer at the Irving Chautauqua series, Dave Tanner combines his unique blend of music and anecdotes with expressions of love.
  • Texas Harmony Chorus – 2 p.m. Feb. 20. Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. Texas Harmony Chorus, Irving-based a cappella chorus that has performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall, entertains with barbershop-style musical selections.

“Giving back to the library by volunteering, donating books or joining Friends of the Library is a wonderful way to give to the whole community,” said Friends of the Library President Margie Cohen. “All of the activities highlighted during the Love Your Library month create opportunities for the community to rediscover how great our libraries are, make new friends and help the library serve the community even better.”
