In a display of exemplary police work, the Mansfield Police Night Shift successfully apprehended several suspects involved in a stolen vehicle incident on N. Walnut Creek.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers received a Flock (License Plate Reader) notification regarding a stolen vehicle in the vicinity. Upon arriving at the Murphy's Gas Station, they not only located the reported stolen vehicle but also identified another stolen vehicle at the same location.
As officers initiated a stop on one of the vehicles, the other attempted to flee the scene. The driver of the first car was successfully arrested, while four passengers attempted to escape on foot. Utilizing a drone officer for assistance, law enforcement swiftly located and apprehended all suspects in the nearby woods.
Simultaneously, officers pursued the second stolen vehicle on the service road, leading to a brief southbound pursuit on U.S. 287. The pursuit concluded when the vehicle was stopped on U.S. 287 at Lone Star Road, resulting in the apprehension of all three suspects involved.
In total, seven juveniles and one adult were arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle incident. The Mansfield Police Department extends appreciation to their dispatchers for their support and teamwork during the operation.
