In an incident around 8 am, Kennedale Police officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at Town Center on W. Kennedale Pkwy (Business 287). The crash occurred when a vehicle traveling eastbound left the roadway, colliding with a building. The cause of the crash remains unclear at this time.
Upon arrival, officers assisted in extracting the driver from the vehicle, which had caught fire after the collision. Subsequently, the driver became combative and assaulted both officers on the scene. The officers sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment. The driver was taken to the hospital for injuries related to the crash. The incident is currently under investigation.
