The City of Duncanville has named Matthew Stogner as the Interim Chief of Police for the Duncanville Police Department. Mr. Stogner, who started as a patrol officer in 1998, boasts 25 years of experience within the department, having served in various roles, including Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Special Services Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Operations Lieutenant, and Administrative Lieutenant. In 2021, he was promoted to Assistant Chief of Police.
With qualifications including graduation from the FBI Leadership Trilogy, Institute for Law Enforcement Administration, Police Executive Research Forum, and holding a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, Mr. Stogner is regarded as a highly qualified individual for the Interim Police Chief position.
City Manager Douglas Finch expressed the city's satisfaction with Stogner's appointment, highlighting his experience, professionalism, and integrity. Finch emphasized the importance of an open and transparent national search for the next Police Chief.
