The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that took place on Thursday, February 1st, at the intersection of Highway 287 and Lakeview.
The incident occurred at 5:45 am when a Ford SUV traveling on Lakeview attempted to cross southbound Hwy 287, failing to yield the right of way to a semi tractor-trailer heading south on 287, resulting in a collision.
The driver of the Ford, identified as an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. There were no other passengers in the Ford, and the driver of the semi tractor-trailer did not sustain any injuries.
The identity of the deceased will be disclosed by the Ellis County Justice of the Peace once next of kin has been notified.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
