Man Shot in Arlington After Accidental Bump Leads to Altercation

On Wednesday, February 7th, at approximately 5:20pm, Arlington police officers were dispatched to a shopping center located in the 2200 block of N. Collins Street following reports of a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, Officers found an adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

According to the victim's account to the officers, the altercation ensued after he accidentally bumped into the suspect while exiting one of the businesses in the shopping center. This led to a verbal exchange between the two parties, during which the suspect drew a firearm, shot the victim, and subsequently fled the scene on foot.

As of now, the Arlington Police Department (APD) has not made any arrests in connection with the incident. However, investigators are actively pursuing leads and working to identify and locate the suspect involved in the shooting.
