Denton Doctor Arrested on Indecent Assault Charges After Joint Investigation

Dr. Ikenna Adugba

In a joint effort between the Denton Police Department and the Texas Office of the Attorney General, a Denton doctor has been arrested and charged on four counts of Indecent Assault after an investigation.

The case began in May 2023 when a woman came forward, alleging that Dr. Ikenna Adugba had inappropriately touched her during a medical appointment at First Care Medical Center in Denton.

Given Adugba's status as a Medicaid provider and physician, Denton PD detectives sought assistance from the Texas Office of the Attorney General Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Subsequently, detectives uncovered three more female patients who reported similar assaults by Adugba during appointments spanning 2022 to 2023.

Following their investigation, detectives secured four arrest warrants for Indecent Assault on Monday. Adugba, aged 64 and a resident of Coppell, was taken into custody without issue at his workplace in the 2100 block of Brinker Road on Tuesday.

Adugba was then booked into the City of Denton Jail on an $80,000 bond. He has since posted bond and been released.

Anyone with information about Adugba, including any unreported incidents, is encouraged to contact Detective Marqui Curtis at (940) 349-7727.
