18-Year-Old Arrested for Aiding Girlfriend's Suicide in Frisco

Frisco Police Department arrested an 18-year-old man for aiding in the suicide of his 17-year-old girlfriend.

Responding to a report of suspicious activity at Frisco Commons Park on November 20, 2023, officers discovered a body in the park's pond.

Following an extensive investigation, authorities concluded that Zander Tashman, 18, from Frisco, assisted his 17-year-old girlfriend in her suicide. Subsequently, detectives obtained a warrant for Tashman's arrest, and he was apprehended on February 18, 2024.

Tashman faces charges of Aiding Suicide, classified as a State Jail felony with a possible prison sentence ranging from 180 days to two years and a fine of up to $10,000. His bond has been set at $10,000.

The Frisco Police Department urges individuals aware of someone struggling with mental health issues and contemplating suicide to intervene and seek assistance on their behalf. Resources such as the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, accessible by dialing 9-8-8, provide round-the-clock support from trained counselors.
