The Waco Police Department is actively seeking suspects in connection with a homicide that occurred on February 23, 2024, claiming the life of a 41-year-old male.
Responding to a call on the 200 Block of Mary Ave., officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. Despite attempts to administer life-saving measures, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
According to police reports, an altercation involving multiple individuals escalated, resulting in the fatal shooting of the victim. As of now, authorities have not been able to identify the suspects involved.
The victim's next of kin has been notified, and his identity will be released at a later time.
The Waco Police Department urges anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 254-750-7500. Alternatively, tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP (4357). A reward of up to $2,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest.
This marks the first homicide investigation of the year 2024 in Waco.
