Waco Police Seek Suspect in Fatal Shooting, Two Dead and One Wounded

The Waco Police Department is actively searching for a suspect following a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday, February 24, 2024, leaving one person dead and two injured.

According to authorities, officers responded to a call at 3:01 a.m. in the 600 Block of Ruby Ave. where they found a 19-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

At the scene, officers discovered that two other individuals, an 18-year-old female, and a 39-year-old male, had also been taken to the hospital by bystanders. While the female is expected to survive, the male victim passed away due to his injuries.

The incident unfolded during a confrontation involving multiple individuals, but law enforcement has yet to identify a suspect.

The identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 254-753-HELP(4357), with the possibility of a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.

This marks the second homicide investigation in Waco for the year 2024.
