Fort Worth Meth Trafficker Sentenced to 25 Years in Federal Prison

Christian Allen Meers

Christian Allen Meers, 45, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, announced U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Leigha Simonton.

Meers, who operated a narcotics trafficking business out of various hotels, was charged via criminal complaint in June 2023 and indicted the following month. He entered his guilty plea on Sept. 25, 2023, just as his trial was set to begin. The sentencing was handed down by U.S. District Judge Reed C. O’Connor.

Court documents revealed that Meers frequently changed hotels every few days to evade law enforcement detection. However, his operation came to a halt on June 14, 2023, when law enforcement officers in Fort Worth detained him and a female associate following a traffic violation. During the detention, officers discovered a key card to a nearby La Quinta Inn in Meers' possession. The female associate admitted that there was methamphetamine stored in a bag inside the hotel room.

A subsequent search of the room uncovered a Louis Vuitton bag filled with plastic baggies containing over 4,500 grams of methamphetamine. Additionally, officers found two firearms in the room, both of which had been reported stolen.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Fort Worth Police Department, with assistance from Assistant U.S. Attorneys Shawn Smith and Frank Gatto, who prosecuted the case.
