Lewisville Man Sentenced to Life in Prison For Murdering Girlfriend

In a verdict reached on Thursday, February 29, 2024, a Denton County jury convicted Dion Jones of Murder for the death of his girlfriend, Aiyah Roseborough. The same jury handed down a sentence of LIFE in prison for Jones.

The incident occurred in March 2022 at an apartment within the Oak Forest Apartment complex on Highway 121 in Lewisville. Jones confessed to investigators that he and Roseborough had gotten into a fight, during which he strangled her. 

The prosecution team, led by ADAs Michael Graves and Barrett Doran, represented the State of Texas in the case. Detectives Jeffrey Darlington and Jeff Carey from the Lewisville PD conducted the investigation. Special thanks were extended to DA Investigators Bill Cruce and Rodney Bolin, along with Victim Intervention Specialist Kizzy Thomas, for their diligent work on the case.

The Roseborough family received gratitude for their support and understanding during the proceedings.
