Haltom City Police responded to a distress call on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 PM, regarding an injured individual at a residence in the 5800 block of Echo Bluff Dr. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a severe gunshot wound. The injured individual was transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
The incident occurred at a residence currently on the market, with scheduled house tours taking place throughout the day. It is believed that the shooting took place during one of these scheduled tours.
An ongoing investigation led by detectives is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. While self-infliction is being considered, authorities have not ruled out the possibility of foul play.
Update: After a preliminary investigation, it appears this was an accidental shooting.
