On March 17, 2024, authorities responded to reports of a shooting at a residence located in the 4900 block of Captains Place, Garland. The incident occurred shortly after 2 am, prompting the deployment of Garland Officers to the scene.
Upon arrival, both the Garland Police Department and Garland Fire Department discovered one individual who had sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by an unidentified suspect. Despite efforts to save the victim, they succumbed to their injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Drevon Bowman of Dallas. Investigations revealed that the shooting ensued following a disturbance at a party hosted at the residence.
Garland Detectives have taken charge of the case and are diligently working to ascertain the motive behind the shooting and to apprehend the perpetrator(s) involved.
