The Irving Water Utilities Department has been honored with the Outstanding Municipal Utility Award for the second consecutive year.
The award, which is presented by the Texas Municipal Utility Association, is based on leadership in the industry, developing innovative solutions to utility problems, providing measurable improvement to customer service and enhancing the prestige of all municipal utility systems.
Application highlights included several examples:
- Partnership with the Irving ISD to train students to become state-licensed water and wastewater system operators.
- Continuous improvement to customer service and work processes.
- Commitment of staff to volunteer and lead professional organizations, teach classes and share expertise with other utilities.
