Killeen Police are investigating the death of a 26-year-old male following a shooting incident on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Officers responded to the 3500 block of Rusack Drive around 7:53 p.m. where they found the male victim inside a residence with gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and Killeen EMS, the victim passed away from his injuries. Justice of the Peace James pronounced him deceased at 8:38 p.m.
A male adult present at the scene was taken into custody and transported to the Killeen City Jail.
Authorities have confirmed that the incident is linked to domestic or family violence, assuring the public that there is no further threat to the community.
Detectives from the Robbery-Homicide Unit are actively investigating the homicide.
