62-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck By Truck in an Arlington Kroger Parking Lot

The Arlington Police Department is currently investigating the death of a 62-year-old woman who was involved in an auto-pedestrian collision on Wednesday, April 3rd. The incident took place around 3:42 p.m. in the parking lot of Kroger, located in the 2300 block of SE Green Oaks Boulevard.

According to investigators, the collision occurred when the driver of a pickup truck, traveling south within the parking lot toward the store's front entrance, paused near the end of the row. Subsequently, the driver turned eastbound and unintentionally struck the woman, who had just exited the store and was walking in the parking lot.

Upon realizing the accident, the driver of the pickup immediately stopped and began providing assistance. Authorities have confirmed that he is not facing any criminal charges in connection to the incident.

The woman was transported to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel pronounced her deceased.   The woman was identified as 62-year-old Linda Kay Brown of Arlington.

After initial investigations, authorities have ruled out speed and alcohol as contributing factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
