The Grand Prairie Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024. According to reports, a Honda passenger car was in the process of backing up within the 600 block of East Jefferson Street when a pedestrian's leg became entangled in the tire, resulting in the pedestrian falling to the ground.
As a result of the fall, the pedestrian sustained a head injury and was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. On Friday, May 10th, medical staff informed investigators that the pedestrian had succumbed to their head injury and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
At present, no charges are anticipated to be filed in connection with the incident. However, investigators have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol may have been a contributing factor for the deceased pedestrian.
The investigation into this collision remains ongoing.
