On Tuesday morning, at around 6:00 am, McKinney Police responded to reports of vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex near Ridge Rd and University Ave.
Upon arrival, officers initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, leading to one suspect fleeing on foot. After a search lasting an hour and a half, the fleeing suspect was spotted entering an Uber across from McKinney Boyd High School.
Police quickly intercepted the Uber at it was exiting the neighborhood and apprehended the suspect in a high-risk traffic stop, causing minor traffic delays.
The investigation is ongoing, but authorities reassure the public that there is no further threat.
