The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday, May 14th, in the 3100 block of southbound South Highway 161.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., a motorcycle traveling southbound collided with a Honda passenger van that entered the lanes of traffic from a private drive, failing to yield to the motorcycle.
The collision resulted in the single rider being ejected and sustaining serious injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical staff. No other injuries were reported.
The deseased man was identified as 22-year-old Ashton Blake Ross of Mansfield.
The case will be referred to a Grand Jury.
This collision remains under investigation.
