Dallas Man Convicted of Aggravated Robbery, Receives 55-Year Sentence

According to the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, 30-year-old Alexander Guzman has been found guilty of aggravated robbery after committing two separate offenses within a nine-day span.

The incidents occurred at the Cantera Crossing Apartments, where Guzman approached victims, stealing their belongings and vehicles at gunpoint. During the first robbery on September 8, 2023, Guzman fired three shots, threatening the victim's safety.

Nine days later, he shot another victim in the back while attempting to steal their car. Guzman has been sentenced to 55 years in prison.

The prosecution was led by Jonathan Grant and assisted by Leah Dintino, with support from DA Investigator Juan Carranza and DA Paralegal Regina Taylor. The Dallas Police Department investigated the case, with ADA Aaron Veuleman providing assistance during the trial.

Special recognition was given to Gang/CRT investigators John Schingle, Jesse Resendez, Raul Obregon, and Investigator Julie Jacob for their contributions to the case.
