On May 27, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a health and welfare check call in the 4900 block of Mark Trail Way, in the Redbird area near Bahama Beach Waterpark. Officers found 14-year-old Julian Miguel Zavala on the ground in a breezeway of the apartment complex. Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived on the scene and determined the boy had died.
Further investigation revealed that the teen had been shot. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspect information is available at this time.
