Teen Arrested for Aggravated Robbery and Kidnapping in Killeen

A 17-year-old male has been apprehended and detained at Bell County Jail, facing charges of Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Kidnapping in Killeen. Additionally, two 16-year-old males and one 15-year-old male were arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in connection with the incident.

The events unfolded in the early hours of June 2nd, 2024, at approximately 2:02 AM, when a Killeen Police Officer conducting an area check near Hallmark Ave and Wolf St observed several individuals, one of whom frantically flagged down the officer while others fled. The 17-year-old male was apprehended as he attempted to enter a nearby residence, removing a mask as he walked away from the officer.

The victim reported using the dating app Grindr to meet individuals and was lured to a nearby address, where he was confronted by four unidentified males armed with shotguns and handguns. The suspects demanded property, assaulted the victim, and coerced him towards his vehicle, indicating they intended to transport him elsewhere. The victim seized the opportunity to alert the officer in the vicinity.

Subsequent police response involved the utilization of a Police K9 and a Drone, resulting in the discovery of the three juvenile suspects hiding inside a storage shed. A handgun and a BB gun resembling a shotgun were recovered from the scene.

Following a review by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office, Dusty Andrew Bailey Jr. was charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery. Judge Randy Dale arraigned Bailey, setting bond at $300,000 for each charge, totaling $600,000. The identities of the juvenile suspects have not been released.

The Killeen Police Department Robbery/Homicide Unit is actively investigating similar incidents in the area and urges individuals who may have encountered similar circumstances to come forward and report to the authorities.

The investigation remains ongoing.
