In a recent announcement, the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office revealed that 22-year-old Bryce Oliver has pleaded guilty to Murder and has been sentenced to 49.5 years in prison.
The case stems from an incident on November 21, 2022, when Arlington Police Officers responded to a reported single-vehicle car accident. Instead, they found 21-year-old Juan Merino Jr. with a gunshot wound to the head in the driver's seat.
A witness informed the police that Oliver and another suspect, a juvenile, had orchestrated a robbery, during which Oliver fatally shot Merino in the back of the head before fleeing with his belongings.
The prosecution was handled by Lucas Allen and Kim Barragon, while the Arlington Police Department conducted the investigation.
