Fort Worth Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that took place on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at around 11:21 p.m. The incident occurred in the 7200 block of Silver City Dr near Boat Club Rd in Northwest Fort Worth.
Officers from the Northwest Division were dispatched to a shooting call and upon arrival, discovered an adult male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds to his upper torso/head area. Medical treatment was administered to the victim, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
According to detectives, the altercation began as a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect regarding narcotics, which escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, an additional individual intervened to assist the victim against the suspect. The suspect then brandished a handgun and discharged multiple shots, hitting the victim at least once.
Following the shooting, the victim and witnesses fled the scene in the victim's vehicle. However, they lost control and crashed into a nearby house. Fortunately, although individuals were present in the house at the time, no injuries were reported.
Homicide detectives are currently conducting interviews with witnesses and the suspect. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
