The Irving Memorial Park Committee is inviting the community to honor local veterans at a Memorial Day service that will begin at 2:30 p.m. May 29 at the Central Library, 801 W. Irving Blvd. Program guests include 1st Lt. Donald Van Slyke, the MacArthur High School Band, Mayor Herbert A. Gears, and Irving council members Gerald Farris and Mike Gallaway.
Following the service, a reception will be held at Veterans Memorial Park, 644 Rock Island Road (located next to the Central Library).
