Man Rescued with Severe Burns in Azle House Fire

At approximately 8:56 AM on July 6, 2024, the Briar-Reno Fire Department was dispatched to a porch fire in the 14000 block of Briar Road in Azle. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire extending into the residence. During the fire attack, crews located a 55-year-old male unconscious inside the residence and performed a rapid rescue. The victim suffered second-degree burns to approximately 50% of his body and was flown by medical helicopter to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Responding agencies included the Briar-Reno Fire Department, Azle Fire Department, Wise County E.S.D. 1, Parker County E.S.D. 1, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Tarrant County Fire Marshal's Office, and CareFlight. The fire is currently under investigation.
