Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Irving

At 5:10 a.m. Friday morning police responded to an accident located at the S.H. 114 and S.H. 183 split, involving a vehicle and pedestrian. The preliminary accident investigation revealed that a female pedestrian was attempting to cross the freeway, from north to south, when she was hit by a passing vehicle (black Lincoln Town Car) traveling westbound on S.H. 114.

The vehicle and other passing motorists stopped at the location and called the police.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and investigators are still trying to confirm the identity of the victim and notify next of kin; therefore she is only described as a white female in her early 20’s.

At this point in the investigation, speed or alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor to the accident.
