On August 3, 2024, at approximately 12:04 p.m., the North Richland Hills Police Department responded to a family disturbance in the 7900 block of Harwood. The suspect was reported to be actively assaulting the victim. Upon the arrival of officers, the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The vehicle fled but was quickly disabled after striking a responding police vehicle at the intersection of Davis Blvd and Maplewood Ave. The driver of the vehicle refused to exit. Given the suspect's display of aggression, the North Richland Hills SWAT was activated to safely resolve the situation.
After establishing control of the scene, the male suspect was safely removed from the vehicle and taken into custody. Davis Blvd was closed during the incident.
This case remains under investigation.
