Dallas Announces Urban Agriculture Infrastructure Support Program

The City of Dallas Office of Environmental Quality and Sustainability’s (OEQS) Urban Agriculture Division has partnered with Dallas County Health and Human Services to launch the Urban Agriculture Infrastructure Support Program. This program will allocate approximately $100,000 in funding to cover expenses related to enhancing agricultural infrastructure within the City of Dallas.

The funds are intended to support farmers and food growers with the planning, design, installation, and renovation of eligible infrastructure, including community gardens, rooftop farms, and hydroponic systems.

This initiative aligns with Goal 7 of the Comprehensive Environmental Climate Action Plan (CECAP), focusing on boosting local food production, improving food access, promoting healthier communities, and addressing disparities in the local food system.

Proposals can be submitted starting August 5, 2024, with the application period closing on September 2, 2024, at midnight.
