On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at approximately 3:57 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Charisse Street in response to a call regarding a deceased person inside a residence.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old female and a 22-year-old male, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Justice of the Peace Nicola James pronounced both individuals dead at 5:26 p.m.
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin.
Authorities currently believe this incident to be a murder-suicide and have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community's safety.
