23-Year-Old Dallas Man Killed in High-Speed Motorcycle Crash in Coppell

On Friday, August 9th, 2024, at approximately 5:54 PM, the Coppell Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a major accident involving a single vehicle at 1400 S. Belt Line Rd.

According to witnesses, a black 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed before losing control. The motorcycle slid off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The driver of the motorcycle, 23-year-old Dallas resident Tayshawn Latimer, did not survive the accident. At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The Coppell Police Department and the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
