Irving Establishes a Relationship with Poland

Poland Delegation at Mustangs of Irving

In an attempt to establish greater trade opportunities, a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland made a presentation covering an overview of Poland and its economy. With a country of nearly 40 million people and a vibrant economy with positive and sustained GDP growth, Poland provides clear benefits and comfort for its trade partners in the West. The ease of trade, travel, and communication issues for potential business partners in the U.S. are definite advantages. Poland's geographic location also provides a privileged and stable gateway into Eastern Europe.

Visits and meetings were conducted with several Irving-based companies where opportunities of mutual interest were explored. Thom Davis' Irving-based company, Omega Environmental Technologies, participated in the meetings with the Delegation. Thom is also Chairman of the Advisory Board for Irving Sister Cities/International Trade Development & Assistance Center (ISC/ITDAC) who hosted the event.

Omega Environmental Technologies already does business in Poland, but Thom is hopeful that relationships with Poland will continue to grow, having a favorable impact on Irving-based exports. In addition, the Greater Irving Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce briefed the delegation on the local business environment, Irving Community, and development of the Las Colinas area. The delegation received a tour of the Irving Marketing Center followed by a brief visit to the Mustangs sculpture and Museum in the Williams Square Center.

Dorothy Dabrowski, a member of the Delegation and Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce of Poland, was very complimentary of the Las Colinas area and echoed the thoughts of the whole group that they were "...not only extremely impressed with the vision but with the results of the development."   ISC/ITDAC and the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber were pleased with the established relationships and will continue to strengthen these links to derive the benefits of increased trade and investment.
