The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man. On the night of August 13, 2024, at approximately 11:08 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Forest Hollow Lane after receiving reports of a shooting. A woman at the scene informed police that the father of her child had been shot by a relative.
The suspect remained at the scene and told officers that he acted in self-defense and to protect the woman, who he claimed was being choked by the victim. Investigators noted a history of domestic violence between the couple during their investigation.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries. No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing. The case will be forwarded to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office for further review. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the next of kin.
