On April 5, 2022, Patrick Wright, 44, was arrested after violently assaulting his girlfriend of nine years at their Fort Worth residence. During the incident, Wright punched his girlfriend multiple times and threw a piece of furniture at her, causing significant injuries.
Following his arrest, Wright persistently attempted to convince his girlfriend to withdraw the charges and reconcile, but she refused. She provided crucial testimony during the trial, describing the assault in detail.
The case was investigated by the Fort Worth Police Department. Prosecutors Chase Payne and Kate Hinojosa of the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office presented the case to the jury.
The jury found Wright guilty of assaulting a family member, and he was subsequently sentenced to 30 years in prison.
