On Wednesday, 06-29-11 at approximately 7:25 p.m., Irving Police responded to the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and Cowboys Parkway for a report of a traffic accident. While driving to the location, officers were told that the involved vehicle had left the scene and was being followed. Officers located and stopped the vehicle as it was getting onto IH 635 toward Dallas. Officers also responded to the location of the reported accident and spoke with the people who were at the location. Officers learned that City of Irving employees were at the location doing road work and had numerous lanes of MacArthur Boulevard blocked using city vehicles and traffic cones. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Douglas Nate Stover (52) of Coppell. Stover was released at the scene and the incident is currently being investigated; therefore limited information is releasable at this time. Alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
