Fatal Collision on Jacksboro Highway: Driver Flees on Foot

On Saturday, September 7, 2024, at approximately 9:22 p.m., officers from the Northwest Division responded to a major accident on the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway. Preliminary investigations revealed that a suspect vehicle collided with the victim's vehicle, causing the victim to be ejected.

The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of officers. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the manner and cause of death, as well as the identity of the deceased, once the next of kin has been notified.

The Fort Worth Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit has been notified and will conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

UPDATE: The victim was identified as 40-year-old Arturo Infante, a Hispanic male with unknown address.

On September 9th a suspect in this case was captured. 25-year-old Jose Maximino Ramirez-Olmedo was arrested and charged with Accident involving Death. He remains in the Tarrant County Jail on a $20,000.00 bond.
