The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced that Robert Gonzales, 47, of Waco, is the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender for September. A reward of $4,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest if the tip is received this month.
Gonzales has been wanted by McLennan County authorities since September 2023 for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. His criminal record includes multiple convictions: in 2011, he was convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to two years of confinement. That same year, he was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child involving a 5-year-old girl, leading to a 10-year prison sentence. In 2022, Gonzales was convicted again for failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and for possession of a controlled substance, receiving a concurrent two-year sentence for each charge. Additionally, he has several past convictions for felonious assault in Ohio.
Gonzales stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 195 pounds. He has tattoos on his neck, back, and both arms. Besides Waco, he has connections to Dallas County.
