Arlington Man Sentenced to 35 Years for Brutal Assault on Girlfriend Leading to Her Eye Removal

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office has announced that 32-year-old Andrew Joshua Jones of Arlington has pled guilty and been sentenced to 35 years in prison for aggravated assault causing bodily injury, family violence.

On December 6, 2023, Jones was involved in an incident where he strangled and assaulted his girlfriend in their apartment. Subsequently, on January 9, 2024, during an argument, Jones repeatedly punched and kicked her, eventually stomping on her face. The victim underwent multiple surgeries following this assault, which led to the removal of her right eye.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Chase Payne and Emily Kirby. The District Attorney's Office acknowledged Detective Jones and the Domestic Violence Unit at the Arlington Police Department for their extensive work on the case and their dedication to community safety.
