Residents encouraged to think green... be green with FREE educational opportunities

The City of Irving offers a variety of classes to promote environmental sustainability all year long. Below is a list of free upcoming Think Green … Be Green educational opportunities.
  • The class, Environmental Sustainability and the Economy, will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Valley Ranch Library, 401 Cimarron Trail, to teach students the right questions to ask when researching investment opportunities in the environmental field. 
  • As part of the slow food movement, Bring on the Chef, is being held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Heritage Senior Center, 200 S. Jefferson St. The class will discuss the benefits of cooking at home with local produce. Participants will be treated to tasty fare prepared by the chef. 
  • The class, Greywater Irrigation Systems, is being offered from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 18 to teach residents about irrigation methods using water from sources within the home, like sinks and washing machines.
