On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Plano Police officers and Plano Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched to the intersection of East Park Boulevard and San Gabriel Drive in response to a serious traffic collision involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, first responders found that the driver of the motorcycle had sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Plano Fire-Rescue.
According to a preliminary investigation, the crash occurred when a Cadillac sedan traveling eastbound on East Park Boulevard made a left turn onto San Gabriel Drive. The motorcycle, traveling westbound on East Park Boulevard, collided with the Cadillac, causing the motorcyclist to be ejected from his vehicle. The impact of the collision also caused both the Cadillac and the motorcycle to strike two other vehicles that were stopped at a stop sign on southbound San Gabriel Drive. No other drivers involved in the crash reported injuries.
The motorcyclist has been identified as Antonio Thomas Elizondo, a 27-year-old resident of Murphy, TX. The Plano Police Department’s Traffic Unit is currently investigating the incident.
