In a case of stranger-on-stranger aggravated robbery, 29-year-old Quentin Alexander Allen was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty of robbing a man at gunpoint in his driveway in Dallas. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was followed home from the Sprinkles parking lot and robbed of his $50,000 Rolex watch.
The incident, investigated by the Dallas Police Department, was solved with the help of Flock Cameras installed in the victim's neighborhood. The cameras captured Allen following the victim into the residential area in a rental car, which was later traced due to a GPS tracker installed by the rental car company, unbeknownst to Allen.
Detective Lumbley, who led the investigation, tracked the vehicle's movements and retrieved surveillance footage from multiple locations, including a storage unit registered in Allen’s mother’s name. In the footage, Allen was seen holding what appeared to be the stolen Rolex. He was also captured on video at a Motel 6, seemingly carrying a firearm. Although neither the firearm nor the Rolex was recovered, cell phone data further placed Allen at both the scene of the crime and the Sprinkles parking lot.
Allen, who had no prior criminal history and was eligible for probation, was ultimately sentenced by a jury to 15 years in prison. Lead prosecutor Samantha Jarvis, assisted by Heather Ragsdale, successfully argued the case with support from DA investigators Reggie Woods and Michael Csaszar.
Despite Allen’s probation eligibility, the overwhelming evidence and strong investigation led to his conviction.
