The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred early morning on Saturday, October 19th. At around 1:40 a.m., a Toyota passenger car traveling north on the 4500 block of S. Highway 360 at Green Oaks Blvd, with hazard lights on and moving at a slower speed, was struck from behind by a GMC SUV.
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC SUV, identified as 20-year-old Hector Garcia, is believed to have been intoxicated and was arrested for intoxication manslaughter. Garcia is being held at the Grand Prairie Detention Center with a bond set at $200,000.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after notifying the next of kin. The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
