Firearm Discovered at Fossil Ridge High School in Keller, Student Taken Into Custody

Keller ISD informed parents on October 30, 2024, that a firearm was found on the campus of Fossil Ridge High School. The discovery followed a student report about a potential firearm, prompting law enforcement to implement a classroom hold while the situation was investigated. During this hold, students and staff remained in their classrooms, and hallways were cleared to ensure safety.

Authorities located the student involved and took them into custody without incident. Keller ISD encourages parents to remind their students that no weapons or items resembling weapons are permitted on school grounds. Bringing such prohibited items to school is a violation of Keller ISD's code of conduct and Texas state law, which may result in criminal charges.
