McKinney Police Investigate Double Homicide After Shooting Near Chestnut and Colorado Streets

On Saturday, November 9, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., McKinney Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire near the intersection of Chestnut Street and Colorado Street after multiple 911 calls. Upon arrival, officers located two individuals with gunshot wounds: a 17-year-old Black male and a 22-year-old Black male. Both victims were transported to local hospitals, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

The McKinney Police Department is actively investigating the incident. Currently, there is no suspect information available, and no arrests have been made. Authorities are committed to pursuing all leads and will provide updates to the public as new information emerges.

UPDATE: On November 13, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) took a suspect, a juvenile, into custody on charges of Capital Murder. The juvenile is the third suspect arrested. 21-year-old Roman Miguel Castillo was taken into custody earlier this week. The other individual arrested was also juvenile. There is no indication of any additional suspects at this time.
